Before You Ask For Help

1. Open a public YouTube video in Chrome.
2. Open Mimi from the Chrome toolbar.
3. Confirm Mimi.app setup shows the local helper and Gemini API key as ready.
4. Press Start Translation.
5. Press Stop after the test.

If YouTube works, then try X Web or another supported video site.

What To Include

• What you tried to do.
• What happened instead.
• macOS version.
• Chrome version.
• Mimi version if visible.
• Whether this happened on YouTube, X Web, or another site.
• The exact visible Mimi error message.
• A redacted Mimi debug bundle if Mimi explicitly created one.

What Not To Send

• Gemini API keys.
• .env files or Keychain screenshots.
• Private URLs.
• Account names, email addresses, or personal browser data.
• Raw transcripts, video contents, or private audio.
• Chrome Web Store dashboard screenshots with private details.
• Local diagnostic files unless they came from Mimi's redacted debug bundle.

If a screenshot is useful, crop or blur anything private before sharing it.

Known Alpha Limits

Mimi Alpha requires Chrome on Mac, the companion Mimi.app local helper, and your own Gemini API key.

Mimi sends current-tab audio to Gemini only after you press Start Translation. It may have a few seconds of delay, like human simultaneous interpretation.

Mimi Alpha does not create subtitle files, download videos, save finished dubbed videos, cache translated audio, provide a managed cloud API account, or promise perfect lip sync.
